Masundari Bhaji
Ingredients
- Masundari xaak: 150 gms
- Sliced garlic: 1 tbsps
- Egyptian lentil: 1 tbsp
- Mustard oil: 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder: ½ level tsp
- Salt: to taste
- To decorate: Masundari leaf
Directions
- Clean, wash and drain the xaak.
- Wash and soak the lentil for half an hour.
- Heat oil in a karahi. Fry the sliced garlic.
- Sprinkle turmeric powder and add the lentil.
- Upon low heat stir the lentil for awhile and add xaak.
- Sprinkle salt and upon medium heat stir till done.
- Serve Masundari Xaak Bhaji as a first course with plain boiled rice decorating with masundari leaves.
Notes: The scientific name of the masundari xaak is Houttuynia cordata.
