Ingredients
- Mutton: 500 gms
- Grated bamboo shoot: 100 gms
- Sliced onion: 2 medium
- Chopped onion: 1 medium
- Garlic paste: 2 tsps
- Ginger paste: 1 tsp
- Chopped green chillies: 2-4
- Sliced tomato: 2 medium
- Mustard oil: 4 tbsps
- Bay leaves: 2
- Cumin seed: 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/2
- Salt: to taste
Directions
- Make desired size pieces of the meat, wash and drain well.
- Take the meat in a bowl and add sliced onion, ginger paste, garlic paste and a tbsp of oil.
- Sprinkle a little salt, turmeric powder and rub well with hands.
- Cover and marinate for an hour.
- Take the meat in a pressure cooker and bring to full pressure.
- Reduce heat and keep for 5 minute.
- Switch off the gas. When slightly cool open.
- In a karai heat the remaining oil.
- Fry the bay leaves and cumin seeds till brown.
- Add the chopped onion and fry till brown.
- Add the tomatoes and and stir fry till soft.
- Add the bamboo shoot and the hot mutton.
- Sprinke salt to taste and the green chillies.
- Stir cook for a minute and sprinkle salt to taste.
- Cover and cook stirring occasionally.
- When done remove cover.
- Add chopped chillies and stir for awhile.
- Garnish and serve.
