HERBS KHAR WITH PORK (Xaak Aru Gahori  Khar Aanja)


  • Pork meat cut into serving portions: 300 gm
  • Chopped tender lai xaak: 150 gm
  • Chopped Radish leaves: 150 gm
  • Khar: 1 tbsp
  • Sliced onion: 1 large
  • Garlic paste: 1 tbsp
  • Ginger paste: 1 tsp
  • Slit green chillies: 8
  • Chopped fitweed: 2 tbsp
  • Bay leaves: 3
  • Rice powder: 1 tbsp
  • Warm water: 600 ml
  • Salt: to taste
  • Mustard oil: 2 tbsp


  1. - Wash the meat with warm water and drain. - Take the meat in a karahi and put it upon moderate heat. - Sprinkle salt and stir for a while. - Cover tightly stirring occasionally. - When the meat is dry of water and the fat starts to melt add the onion. - Also add the bay leaves, garlic, ginger and green chillies. - Stir for awhile and add the chopped xaak. - Stir for 2 minutes and add khar. - Stir and add the warm water. - Simmer till done. Add the chopped fitweed. - Mix the rice powder with a little water and add. - Stir well so that no lump is formed. Taste for salt. - Add the ginger and mustard oil. - Give a nice stir. - Enjoy Xaak aru Gahori Khar Aanja with rice.
