Paleng Xaakor Lagot Manxo (Mutton with Spinach)

Ingredients

  • Mutton (cut into serving portions): 500 gms
  • Turmeric powder: 1 level tsp
  • Water: 250 gms
  • Spinach: 200 gms
  • Mustard oil: 6 tbsps
  • Sliced onions: 3 medium sized
  • Slit green chillies: 2-4
  • Chopped garlic: 1 tbsps
  • Salt and pepper: to taste

Directions

    • Clean, wash and drain the mutton.
    • Clean, wash and drain spinach. Chop the leaves.
    • In a pressure cooker put the mutton with 250 ml water and turmeric powder.
    • Bring the cooker to full pressure and reduce heat. After 5 minute remove the cooker from fire.
    • When slightly cool open pressure cooker and put it upon fire if not dry.
    • Stir oMethodasionally till the meat is dry.
    • In a karahi heat mustard oil. Add sliced onions, green chillies and chopped onion.
    • When the onion is soft add the chopped xaaks, mutton and sprinkle salt.
    • Stir upon moderate heat.
    • When the xaaks disintegrates and is mixed properly with the meat increase heat and stir for a minute.
    • Sprinkle fresh ground pepper and serve Paleng Xaakor Lagot Patha Manxo as a side dish.
