 Kumura Aru Mati Dailor Khar (Ash gourd Khar)

Ingredients

  • Split black gram: 250 gm
  • Ash gourd (1 inch cube):250 gm
  • Kola khar: 2 tbsp
  • Slit green chillies: 4
  • Mustard oil: 3 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic: 2 tsp
  • Crushed ginger: 1 tsp
  • Bay leaves: 2
  • Dry chillies: 2
  • Water: 900 ml
  • Salt: to taste

Directions

  1. - Soak the black gram overnight. Wash. - Take the ash gourd and water in a saucepan. - Put it upon fire and bring to boil. - After 7 minutes add the black gram and slit green chillies. - Add the khar and salt to taste. - Simmer till done. - Heat oil in a karahi. - Temper with cumin seeds, dry chillies and bay leaves. - Fry the garlic is red. - Add the hot boiling dail. - Also add the crushed ginger and cover. - After 2 minutes switch off the gas. - Garnish with mustard oil. - Serve Kumura Aru Mati Dailor Khar with steamed Joha rice.
