Dailor Khar (Lentil khar)

Ingredients

  • Bengal gram: 75 gm
  • Red lentil: 25 gm
  • Kola khar: 1 tbsp
  • Mustard oil: 3 tbsp
  • Paanch phuron: ½ level tsp
  • Chopped garlic: 2 tsp
  • Chopped onion: 1 tbsp
  • Dry chillies: 2
  • Salt: to taste
  • Sugar: ½ tsp
  • Water: 400 ml
  • For garnishing: mustard oil

Directions

  1. - Wash and soak both the lentil for an hour. - In a pressure cooker boil the lentil with water. - In a warm karahi heat the mustard oil. - Temper with paanch phuron and dry chillies. - Fry the chopped garlic and onion till red. - Add the hot boiled lentil. - Add kola khar, salt and sugar. - Cook till done. - Garnish with mustard oil and serve hot with boiled rice and a fritter.
